The Chinese General Hospital and Medical Center (CGHMC) Department of Internal Medicine – Section of Neurology, successfully conducted its 1st Postgraduate Course: Bringing Back the Basics in Clinical Neurology, a full-day educational program aimed at strengthening the clinical foundations of physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals.
Held on Friday, July 31, 2026, the course brought together more than 300 physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals for a series of lectures, discussions, and industry-sponsored symposia that reinforced essential concepts in the diagnosis and management of common neurological conditions.
The program officially opened with the welcome remarks by Dr Rosie Lu-Koh, Head of the Section of Neurology, and course overview by Dr Jed Noel Ong, Head of the Postgraduate Course.
Throughout the day, participants attended lectures covering a wide range of topics in clinical neurology, including ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, epilepsy, peripheral neuropathy, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, headache, vertigo, and neurocritical care. The course also highlighted the vital role of nurses in stroke management and neurologic patient care, emphasizing the importance of early recognition of Stroke and multidisciplinary collaboration.
Interactive discussions provided participants with practical approaches to recognizing neurologic disorders, making timely clinical decisions, and delivering evidence-based care. The program encouraged participants to revisit the fundamentals of neurology while integrating current concepts and best practices into daily clinical work.
The successful staging of the postgraduate course reflects CGHMC’s commitment to continuous medical education and professional development.
