ART FOR A CAUSE: A Celebration of Healing and Creativity

The Chinese General Hospital and Medical Center Department of Anesthesiology proudly launched its first-ever art fundraising initiative, ARTery: Supporting Competency of Future Anesthesiologists through Art and Community Support.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony was graced by distinguished guests, including Dr. Larry King, Mr. Antonio Diño, Dr. Meneline Wong, Mr. Kelly Sia, Mr. Alberto Tan Lee, Mr. Edmund Santos, and Dr. Edna Brioso.

Hosted by Dr. Florence Incencio, the event featured more than 50 artworks generously donated by colleagues and friends. The artworks were exhibited in the hospital lobby and on the 6th floor, as well as made available online, providing art lovers and enthusiasts with multiple opportunities to participate and support the cause.

In his welcome remarks, Dr. Larry King emphasized the dual purpose of the exhibit: “We are combining two things — one is appreciation of art, and the second is to support our indigent patients.”

Through this initiative, the Department of Anesthesiology demonstrated how creativity and compassion can come together to strengthen the future of healthcare. The exhibit not only highlighted the artistic talents within the community but also channeled them toward a meaningful mission: empowering future anesthesiologists while extending care to patients in need.

The event brought the community together in an inspiring celebration of art, compassion, and purpose, supporting medical education while making a meaningful and lasting impact on the lives of patients and future healthcare professionals.
