The Chinese General Hospital and Medical Center (CGHMC) recently opened its new center of excellence, Robocare Surgical Center. This will be the premier referral center for all minimally invasive and robotic surgical procedures. Robocare Surgical Center will coordinate services from patient inquiries, and scheduling to collaboration with robotic surgeons and departments.
The blessing of the new center was followed by a lay forum on Robotics Surgery at the auditorium.
The lay forum entitled: “Unveiling Technological Marvels: The Era of Robotic-Assisted Surgery in Treating Male and Female Conditions” featured the first CGHMC Robotic Surgeon, Dr. Jason Letran who talked about Urologic Surgery; Dr. Jun Dy, talked about General Surgery and Dra. Patricia Tan, who lectured on Gynecologic Surgery.
The Lay Forum was attended by more than 150 pax and elaborated on the advantages, procedures, and minimally invasive surgeries using the da Vinci Robotic Surgical System. Testimonials from patients who underwent surgeries were also included in the presentation.
Robotic Surgery helps patients recover faster, hospital stay is shortened, there is less scarring, reduced pain and discomfort, and smaller incisions result in reduced risk of infection and blood loss. Patients can return to their normal activities unlike in traditional surgery.
