World Diabetes Day Celebration

World Diabetes Day Celebration

Chinese General Hospital and Medical Center (CGHMC) celebrated World Diabetes Day recently with a week-long series of events and activities from November 10 to 14, 2025.

The celebration carried the theme: “Diabetes and Well-Being.”

The week-long celebration was spearheaded by the Section of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism, in partnership with the Philippine College of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism, and was marked with meaningful activities aimed at raising awareness and promoting early detection. The program featured lay fora that provided valuable education on diabetes prevention, management, and lifestyle interventions.

To complement the discussions, participants were offered free health screenings, which included:

  • Random Blood Sugar (RBS) testing to check glucose levels
  • Neuropathy screening for nerve-related complications
  • Ankle-Brachial Index (ABI) measurement to evaluate circulation and detect peripheral artery disease
  • Bone screening to identify risks of osteoporosis and related conditions

These initiatives not only empowered the community with knowledge but also gave individuals the opportunity to understand their health status better. The celebration highlighted the importance of proactive healthcare and collective action in combating diabetes.
