Pediatric Residency

Chinese General Hospital and Medical Center offers a 3-year pediatric residency training program accredited by the Philippine Pediatric Society. The program aims to develop five-star pediatrician as pediatric care provider, health educator, pediatric health care manager, social mobilizer and researcher. Training of residents includes acquisition of knowledge, skills and attitudes in the prevention, management and treatment aspects in the practice of pediatric care.

The 3-year program offers hands-on experience in a wide variety of pediatric cases both in the private and service division. Trainees are given the opportunity to acquire knowledge and skills in the practice of pediatrics with the number of cases provided and help of fully trained consultant staff including sub-specialist. Well balanced rotations in the different areas (Ward, ER, NSU, PICU, Service division) are provided to give ample exposure in the different cases.

At the end of the program, graduates are expected to provide quality and compassionate pediatric care, to be a good health educator teaching their patients and families, to implement health programs that will benefit their patients, families and their communities and research advocates that will contribute to the improvement of pediatric practice.

Graduates of the program are eligible to take the PPS specialty board and pursue further training in the different sub-specialty of their choice locally and internationally.
